PEP Stations are designed to be identifiable, indestructible, safe, intelligent and user-friendly. Each PEP Station is a Level 2 (208-240V/30A) commercial charge station that comes standard with two (2) J1772 connectors. PEP Stations are made in the United States and comply with all UL, National Electric Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements for electric vehicle charging stations. The following features make PEP Stations a best-in-class electric vehicle charging station.
Concrete Base
PEP Stations pedestal unit sits on a reinforced concrete base, on a footing that is 3’-6” below grade, designed to be at bumper height and compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Because the charge station sits on a concrete base, concrete or steel bollards are not required to protect the unit from being hit by a vehicle. Bollards are not only detrimental to the aesthetics of the site, but interfere with cord management and ADA compliance (Note: Wall-mounted L- brackets are available for wall-mount applications).
8” Touch Screen User Interface
PEP Stations have a unique 8” color touch screen user interface that is weatherproof and sunlight readable. The user interface makes the charging process similar to that of a standard fuel pump.
Brushed Stainless Steel Enclosure
PEP Stations have tamper-proof brushed stainless steel enclosures combining a durable class A stainless steel finish with a NEMA 3R enclosure rating.
Yellow Coiled Cords
PEP Stations’ dual J1772 connectors use highly visible coiled cords as its cable management system, eliminating the need for costly high maintenance retractors or unsightly hangers. Competitive products with unmanageable lengths of black cable are often not hung up properly creating trip hazards and potentially damaged cord sets.
Magnetic Card Reader
PEP Stations are equipped with a magnetic card reader allowing the use of magnetic strip access cards or credit cards. If configured for credit cards, the rates will be determined by the station owner. There are no network memberships or subscription fees required for electric vehicle drivers.
Smart Device Capabilities
The PEP Station is an intelligent device containing an on-board computer running the Windows Operating System. As such, it manages the PEP Station's internal functions and communicates with external systems. It can be reprogrammed remotely at any time to meet future requirements as desired.
Internet connectivity for the PEP Station must be established before the unit can be registered and activated for vehicle charging. Click here for more information.
